The Use of Maps and Map Cachets in the Mail

Description: Maps are visually attractive: their use on covers can be very effective in promoting goods or services or providing information which can be easily understood. Covers shown in this exhibit span more than 170 years and encompass a number of countries … the idea was clearly picked up quite early in the development of the mail and it has persevered.
