The Life Insurance Stamps of New Zealand

Exhibitor: George Henshilwood Award: 83; Large Silver Gilt
Description: The Government Life Insurance Office was the only agency ever allowed to issue their own postage stamps – from 1891 to 1907 and from 1913 to 1969. This exhibit looks at the various designs and many printings, including some unusual items for the Christchurch exhibition, some interesting proofs and die proofs and various examples used on cover, both legally and illegally!
